Andhra Pradesh has signed a ₹515-crore agreement with a consortium led by ThunderPlus, along with ETO Motors and Roqit, to create a multi-modal electric mobility and charging network across the state. The MoU was formalised with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board during the Andhra Pradesh Partnership Summit held in Visakhapatnam on November 18, 2025.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu endorsed the agreement in the presence of Industries and Commerce Minister TG Bharath. Naidu reviewed the proposed mobility blueprint and assured the consortium of fast-track clearances for project execution.

According to officials, the initiative is expected to generate over 5,000 jobs — including 1,450 direct and 3,100 indirect roles — with dedicated opportunities for women in fleet operations, charging station management, customer support and mobility operations.

ThunderPlus, the consortium’s lead member, will develop the state’s EV charging backbone. The infrastructure rollout includes installing 120 kW chargers every 25 km and 1 MW ultra-fast chargers every 100 km along highways and major intercity corridors. The company already runs a 3 MW charging hub in Vijayawada and 0.5 MW facilities in Nellajarla and Visakhapatnam, and is working on electrification plans for the Visakhapatnam–Chennai Industrial Corridor.

Implementation will begin across two priority clusters:

• Amaravati Capital Region: Gannavaram Airport, Vijayawada, Amaravati, Guntur
• Visakhapatnam Urban Region: NAD Junction, Pendurty, Simhachalam, Dwarakanagar

These regions will receive the first phase of the state’s multi-modal EV shuttle network.

The project aims to integrate EV manufacturing, city and intercity mobility services, charging infrastructure and a unified digital ticketing ecosystem. Roqit will develop the single-ticketing platform that will connect multiple modes of transport through one application.

Rajeev YSR, CEO of ThunderPlus Solutions, said the partnership marks a significant step toward building Andhra Pradesh into a “clean mobility capital,” combining integrated shuttle operations, unified ticketing and ultra-fast charging infrastructure.
Nirmal Reddy, CEO of ETO Motors, added that the initiative will create a single, interconnected system designed to improve everyday commuting. Roqit leadership stated that the unified ticketing platform will bring all transport modes onto one seamless app.

The consortium will work with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, municipal bodies, transport agencies and industrial corridor authorities for phased implementation across the state.
