Stocks in focus: United Spirits, KPIT, Adani Powers, Vedanta; Nifty leads above 9,400 level

After a positive close on Wednesday, the Indian Indices today opened on a high note with Nifty above 9300 levels. At 10.54 IST, Sensex was up by 392 points or 1.24 percent at 31,996.75, and Nifty soared with 1.25 percent at 9,431.

Currently, Nifty Bank has soared up by almost 4 percent along with Nifty Pharma and Nifty Metal on the green side. The Q4 results today comprise Seat Limited, Federal Bank, Lupin, Radico Khaitan, TVS Motors, IIFL, Muthoot Capital, Rain Industries, and Tata Steel long.

  1. United Spirits:

The liquor making company reported a decline of 57.82 percent in its consolidated net profit to Rs 49.3 crore in the fourth quarter of FY20. The company had recorded a net profit of Rs 116.9 crore in the same quarter lar year. The firm faced a down owing to the COVID-19 outbreak.

  1. Sun Pharma:

After reporting its quarte four results on Wednesday, the pharmaceutical company closed on the red side. In today’s trading session, the stocks of the company have increased as much as 2 percent at 458, at 11.21 IST.

  1. Vedanta:

The mining company has been facing a negative stance in the market in the past few weeks and has made its way to the green side in the trading session on Thursday. At 11.25 IST, the shares were up by 1 percent at 89 in the NSE.

  1. KPIT Technologies:

The company had a major impact because of COVID-19 in H1FY2. Moreover, it expects the recovery to initiate from quarter three in the fiscal year 2021. The firm reported a 23.3 percent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 38.1 against the same quarter last fiscal.

  1. NTPC:

The power giant NTPC has decided to venture into the electricity distribution business. Therefore, it is manifesting interest to buy 51 per stake in the two utilities based in Delhi. However, the utilities are of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG).

The other stocks that are in focus comprise Adani Power, Ujjivan Financial Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and JMC Projects. Moreover, currently, Induslnd Bank and Eicher Motors are in the top gains in the NSE. Whereas, Bharti Airtel and Infosys lead the losers.
