Kelly Clarkson celebrates her 20th anniversary of winning American Idol- “It forever changed the course of my life”

Kelly Clarkson shared a heartfelt remembrance. On September 4, 2002, Fox’s singing competition American Idol proclaimed Kelly Clarkson its first winner.

As she commemorates the 20th anniversary of her victory, the first “American Idol” winner Kelly Clarkson sent an emotional tribute. According to Deadline, Kelly Clarkson was named the inaugural champion of Fox’s singing contest American Idol on September 4, 2002.

“20 years ago today I won American Idol and it forever changed the course of my life. That moment was the door that opened up so much access and opportunity, and creative partnerships that I will be grateful for all of my days. The family and friendships I have created over these 20 years in music and tv are priceless to me.” The singer is expressing her appreciation and marking the 20th anniversary of her win on the reality series.

Clarkson released “A Moment Like This,” the song she sang on the show’s finals night. With hits like “Miss Independent,” “Breakaway,” “Because of You,” and “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” among others, Clarkson has enjoyed tremendous success since that time.

Clarkson went on to thank “every single person that voted 20 years ago,” before adding: “I hope all of you have people in your lives that fill you with laughter, and hope, and happiness, and if you don’t feel like you have that, then keep searching because I promise you they’re looking for you too.”

Clarkson has also received five Daytime Emmy awards. On Monday, September 12, her syndicated chat programme debuts its fourth season.
