“Inside Out 2” has finally arrived! So, can Pixar use this to escape the shadow of its recent flops like “Elemental,” “The Good Dinosaur,” and “Soul”? Maybe! But that’s not why we’re here. The burning question on many fans’ minds (well, some of them) is: Does “Inside Out 2” have a post-credits scene?
“Inside Out 2” picks up the story of Riley, who is now navigating the treacherous waters of adolescence with the help of her inner emotions. As she edges closer to puberty, she must contend with new feelings like Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Anxiety.
Just like the first “Inside Out,” which treated us to a fun post-credits scene involving animals, this sequel doesn’t disappoint. It has a post-credits scene, plus some extra goodies during the credits themselves.
In one credit scene, we learn that Riley’s Dad also battles anxiety, highlighted by a flashback to a scene where Riley talks to her parents about camp. True to form, the rest of his emotions are preoccupied with watching a game from memory.
The actual post-credits scene is a gem: Joy revisits the Secret Vault, where Deep Dark Secret resides. We discover that Deep Dark Secret is the embodiment of the time Riley accidentally burned a hole in a rug. Joy finds this odd, having assumed Riley’s darkest secret would be something far more embarrassing, like peeing in the pool. Deep Dark Secret decides to stay in the vault after the cringe from this revelation proves too overwhelming.
These fun tidbits leave plenty of room for Pixar to explore if they decide to venture into another sequel.
“Inside Out 2” is in theaters now. Don’t forget to stay through the credits!
