CBS has rewarded an early renewal of season 4 to supernatural comedy Ghosts.
The series has become the latest renewal for the Paramount-owned network, which also handed a third season to Fire Country and gave Justin Harley series Tracker a second season earlier this month.
Launched in January 2021, the series, which is based on BBC’s British comedy, has been proved as a success to CBS. The third season is averaging over 10M viewers in live 7-day multiplatform viewing, which is marginally up from last year and streaming numbers are up on Paramount+. The streaming platform has ranked the series as number one comedy in February.
This move gives some continuity to CBS’ comedy genre as two of its longer running series – Young Sheldon and Bob Hearts Abishola – are coming to an end. Meanwhile, speaking on comedy genre, the platform has also ordered a spinoff on Young Sheldon, which will star Montana Jordan and Emily Osment. Later this year, CBS will also be launching Poppa’s House starring Damon Wayans. The Neighbourhood has also launched its season six last month but it is yet to receive the renewal order.
