Allu Arjun granted interim bail, hours after being arrested in Sandhya Theatre stampede case

Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun, who was arrested on Friday and sent to 14-day judicial custody, has been granted interim bail. The arrest was made in connection with the stampede-like incident that occurred during the premiere of his latest film ‘Pushpa-2: The Rule’ on December 4. The incident, which took place at a theatre in Hyderabad, resulted in the death of a 35-year-old woman and the hospitalisation of her nine-year-old son due to asphyxiation.

A team of police officers arrived at actor’s residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, and was taken into custody from outside his bedroom. He was taken to Chikkadpally police station. A video has been going viral wherein Allu Arjun can be heard saying to the cops that arresting him is not an issue, but to barge into his bedroom is “too much.”

Meanwhile, FWICE [Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees] also released a statement, wherein they condemned the police officials treating Allu Arjun like a “criminal.”

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan also came out in support of Allu Arjun, and noted that the actor is not to be blamed for everything.
