Hollywood action fantasy film Mortal Kombat II completed its first week at the Indian box office with a steady performance. Released on May 8, the sequel continued to attract franchise fans and action movie audiences despite weekday drops in occupancy.

As per trade figures shared by Sacnilk, the film earned around ₹0.53 crore on Day 7, taking its total India net collection to approximately ₹7.43 crore. The India gross collection has crossed ₹8 crore by the end of the first week.

The movie opened strongly during its first weekend and managed to maintain a stable hold during weekdays, especially in English-language screens and premium formats.

Trade analysts believe the film’s loyal fanbase and action-heavy storytelling are helping it sustain collections in multiplexes across metro cities. Globally too, the sequel has been performing well, with strong earnings from North America and overseas markets.

The second weekend will now play a key role in determining whether the film can continue its steady run at the Indian box office.
