NTPC Green Energy achieves full commissioning of 320 MW Bhainsara Solar Project in Rajasthan

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has announced the commercial operation of the final 100 MW phase of its Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. With this milestone, the entire 320 MW capacity of the project has now been fully commissioned.

According to an official disclosure dated March 25, 2025, NTPC stated that the final segment was declared operational effective March 20, 2025, after receiving the completion certificate from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited.

The project, awarded under SECI’s Raj-Tranche-III tender, was developed in three phases. The first 160 MW was commissioned on August 28, 2024, followed by 60 MW on January 7, 2025, and the last 100 MW now operational as of March 20.

With this addition, NTPC continues to strengthen its presence in the renewable energy sector, aligning with India’s broader clean energy transition goals. The Bhainsara project marks a significant milestone in NTPC’s roadmap towards achieving 60 GW of renewable capacity by 2032.
