Linde India has announced the commencement of commercial production at its new Air Separation Unit (ASU) located at the facility of Jindal Stainless in Kalinganagar, Odisha.

The company disclosed the development through an exchange filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

According to the filing, the newly commissioned plant has been specifically designed to supply industrial gases to Jindal Stainless Ltd. (JSL). The facility will supply 1,450 tonnes per day (TPD) of Oxygen, 1,800 TPD of Nitrogen, and 64 TPD of Argon.

Apart from meeting JSL’s captive requirements, the Air Separation Unit will also have additional production capacity to cater to demand from the merchant market. The move is expected to strengthen Linde India’s presence in the industrial and merchant gases segment.

The commissioning of the new ASU marks a significant capacity expansion for Linde India and highlights the growing demand for industrial gases from the steel and manufacturing sectors in India.

Industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, and argon play a critical role in stainless steel manufacturing, metal processing, healthcare, engineering, and several other industrial applications.

Kalinganagar has emerged as one of India’s major steel manufacturing hubs, and the latest facility is expected to support the region’s expanding industrial ecosystem.
