Advait Energy Transitions has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TECO Fuel Cell Technology AS to develop hydrogen fuel cell technology and strengthen India’s green energy ecosystem. The agreement was signed during the 3rd India–Nordic Summit held in Oslo, Norway, on May 18, 2026.
The MoU was signed by Shalin Sheth, Promoter and Managing Director of Advait Energy Transitions, and Tore Enger, Executive Chairman of TECO Maritime Group and CEO of TECO Fuel Cell Technology AS. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Narendra Modi and Jonas Gahr Støre on the sidelines of the summit.
The collaboration is aligned with the Government of India’s “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative and the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The partnership aims to enable domestic manufacturing capabilities in hydrogen fuel cell technology through joint engineering and knowledge transfer.
Under the proposed collaboration, the companies plan to focus on multiple sectors. Production for stationary power applications, including data centre systems, is targeted to begin from Q1 CY2027. Heavy-duty transport and mobility applications are expected to commence production from Q1 CY2028, while maritime and shipping applications will continue to be developed alongside mobility solutions through CY2028.
The development is expected to strengthen India’s push towards clean energy solutions and localized hydrogen technology manufacturing. Hydrogen fuel cells are increasingly being viewed as a key component in decarbonising industries such as transportation, shipping, and power generation.
