Quinton Dixon was a middle school counselor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, whose name came into public attention following serious allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a minor. Dixon, who worked at Westdale Middle Magnet School, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

As per a TMZ report, authorities confirmed that Dixon’s body was discovered on the campus of the now-closed Glen Oaks Middle School. Law enforcement stated that the death has been ruled a suicide.

Allegations Against Quinton Dixon

Earlier in January, Dixon was accused of sending inappropriate and flirtatious messages to a 14-year-old girl through Instagram. According to a warrant obtained by TMZ, the alleged messages were sent between early November 2025 and early January 2026.

The arrest warrant reportedly outlined four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Investigators claimed Dixon continued communicating with the minor even after confirming her age and that she was a high school student. The messages allegedly included comments on her appearance, remarks related to her sexual orientation, and the use of emojis to describe her looks.

A warrant for Dixon’s arrest had already been issued prior to his death.

School District Response

Following the allegations, the East Baton Rouge Parish School System placed Dixon on leave from his position. In an official statement, a representative of the school district expressed condolences to the school community and emphasized that counseling and support services were being made available to students and staff affected by the situation.

The district also reiterated its commitment to student safety and stated that appropriate steps were taken immediately after the allegations surfaced.

Ongoing Impact and Investigation

With Dixon’s death, the criminal case against him will not proceed further. However, authorities have not indicated that the broader investigation into the matter has been closed. School officials continue to focus on student welfare and providing emotional support to those impacted.
