Tata Elxsi has announced a major global collaboration aimed at transforming healthcare delivery in rural America. In an exchange filing dated December 2, 2025, the company revealed a three-way partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and OSF HealthCare to build advanced digital health solutions designed specifically for underserved regions.

According to the official release, the initiative will deploy hyper-local digital health kiosks, powered by Tata Elxsi’s TEngage platform. These kiosks will run on AWS cloud infrastructure and integrate key technologies such as the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), hospital information systems, telehealth services, remote monitoring, and secure data workflows.

The project is backed by academic research from Gies College of Business and Carle Illinois College of Medicine, using real-time OSF HealthCare data to design interventions that reduce barriers to healthcare access. The collaboration aims to address crucial challenges including limited connectivity, low population density, poor healthcare awareness, and gaps in chronic and preventive care.

The deployment will begin in Illinois and expand to multiple counties over the next three years, following a phased model based on community response and usage. The kiosks will offer telehealth consultations, health monitoring, AI-driven analytics for epidemic tracking, and predictive insights for rural populations.

Sreevatsa Sahasranaman, Senior Vice President & Head of Healthcare Business at Tata Elxsi, highlighted that the partnership showcases how technology, combined with research, can create hyper-customized care models for rural communities.

OSF HealthCare emphasized that these kiosks will strengthen outreach in areas where in-person access to hospitals and clinics is limited, enabling community health workers to deliver screenings and digital connectivity directly to patients.

This collaboration underscores Tata Elxsi’s growing global footprint in digital health innovation and marks a significant step toward building scalable, technology-driven healthcare solutions for underserved populations.
