Maithan Alloys Ltd on Monday announced that it has fully suspended production at its Byrnihat unit in Meghalaya with effect from September 22, 2025, citing adverse market conditions and a steep rise in power costs in the state.

In its exchange filing, the company stated that the shutdown, effective from 8:00 a.m. today, will continue for an indefinite period. This decision follows earlier intimations made on June 30 and August 13 regarding the proposed closure of operations at the unit.

The company clarified that the closure aligns with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and reflects the challenges of sustaining production amid escalating input costs.

Maithan Alloys operates multiple units across West Bengal, Meghalaya, and Andhra Pradesh, with the Byrnihat facility being one of its key plants.
