Marsons Limited announced on Thursday that it has expanded its annual manufacturing capacity to 10,000 MVA, positioning itself among the larger transformer manufacturers in India by installed capacity.

The company stated that the capacity expansion comes in response to a strong order book and anticipated demand across multiple segments. In the EHV transformers segment, Marsons is currently executing projects including a 160 MVA, 220 kV class transformer for Inox and 50 MVA and 80 MVA, 132 kV class transformers for the West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company (WBSETCL).

In addition, Marsons has entered the inverter duty transformer (IDT) and wind turbine generator (WTG) markets, with supplies underway for independent power producers, MAHAGENCO, and Inox Wind through EPC contractors.

Within the medium power transformers segment, the 10 MVA rating represents the highest execution volume, with supplies being delivered to state utilities across Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh. The company said this expansion is expected to enhance economies of scale and improve productivity.
