Tata Elxsi, a global leader in design and technology services, has signed a MoU with Garuda Aerospace, a pioneering UAV manufacturer, to establish a cutting-edge UAV design, engineering, and certification center. Announced at Aero India 2025, Asia’s premier airshow, this collaboration aims to drive innovation in indigenous drone technologies, supporting India’s defence sector, smart cities, and agriculture under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
This strategic partnership will showcase advanced UAV prototypes, operational models, and indigenized components, highlighting India’s growing capabilities in autonomous drone technology. Tata Elxsi brings its deep expertise in avionics, miniaturization, secured communication, and energy optimization, ensuring compliance with DO-254 and DO-178C safety standards. Leveraging AI-driven solutions, digital twin technologies, and advanced propulsion systems, Tata Elxsi aims to enhance UAV efficiency, reducing energy consumption and development costs by over 20% while accelerating production timelines by six months.
Garuda Aerospace, as a leading UAV manufacturer, will spearhead business acquisition and delivery, ensuring these drones cater to diverse applications such as precision agriculture, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) missions, payload management, and goods delivery. With a strong focus on defence, these UAVs will significantly enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian defence forces and Border Security Force.
