Time Medical International Ventures (India) Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer Medical Ventures Limited, has launched the Sikkim MRI Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Project, a key initiative aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the region. The project focuses on improving Tuberculosis (TB) diagnostic screening, implemented under the Ayushman Bharat and National Health Mission (NHM) schemes.
The project will install seven 0.35T MRI machines across government hospitals in Sikkim to aid TB diagnostic screening. The machines will be placed at Sir Thutop Namgyal Memorial (STNM) Hospital, and in Namchi, Soreng, Gyalshing, Pakyong, and Singtam Hospitals.
The first MRI facility will be inaugurated at STNM Hospital in Gangtok in February 2025, with further installations scheduled in Geyzing District Hospital and other locations by the end of FY 2024-25.
This initiative aims to improve early detection and treatment of TB, contributing to the National Tuberculosis Elimination Program (NTEP). With the state’s efforts to combat TB, these MRI machines will enhance diagnostic capabilities, making TB detection faster and more accurate.
The Sikkim MRI PPP Project will run for 10 years, ensuring long-term support and maintenance, and will significantly contribute to the state’s fight against TB. By improving access to advanced diagnostic tools, the project is a critical step in enhancing healthcare services for Sikkim’s residents and advancing public health goals.
