TotalEnergies and Oil India Limited (OIL) have signed a landmark cooperation agreement to deploy cutting-edge AUSEA technology for methane emissions detection and measurement at OIL sites across India. This initiative aligns with OIL’s commitment to sustainable practices as a member of the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC), a global industry effort co-chaired by TotalEnergies’ CEO and launched at COP28.
The OGDC aims to achieve net-zero operations by 2050, near-zero upstream methane emissions, and eliminate routine flaring by 2030. As part of its commitment, OIL will adopt AUSEA technology to effectively identify and mitigate methane emissions, contributing to industry-wide decarbonization efforts.
In line with the OGDC’s principle of sharing best practices, TotalEnergies makes this technology accessible to other signatories as an effective and recognized method for detecting, measuring and ultimately reducing methane emissions on their own assets.
