BCPL Railway Infrastructure Limited has announced that its subsidiary, BCL Bio Energy Private Limited, has commenced production of crude edible oils at its 300 Ton Per Day (TPD) edible oil extraction plant in Burdwan, West Bengal. The facility focuses on producing Crude Rice Bran Oil and Crude Mustard Oil, along with De-oiled Rice Bran and De-oiled Mustard Cake, which are used as animal feed and exported to countries such as Bangladesh and Vietnam.

This initiative is aimed at supporting India’s energy security by reducing its reliance on imported edible oils. In addition, BCL Bio Energy plans to export the de-oiled cakes to various countries, thereby contributing to India’s foreign exchange earnings.

BCPL Railway Infrastructure holds a 51% stake in BCL Bio Energy Private Limited, and the operations of the subsidiary will contribute to BCPL’s consolidated financial performance.

Rice Bran Oil (RBO), known for its health benefits, has gained popularity and has found applications in the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and chemical industries. The production process ensures minimal waste by utilizing all parts of the rice bran.
