Sonakshi Sinha talks about everything she learned about the difference between an OTT project and a film – and even how she came to sign her first OTT series, Dahaad. “Honestly, as an actress, I see it as part of my job. I didn’t view it any differently. In fact, I signed Dahaad, my first OTT project, before the lockdown. The selection process was similar to choosing any other movie—I loved the role, I loved the premise. Since it was a longer format, it felt like signing three movies at once, but there wasn’t any major difference. As an actor, my job is to perform, whether it’s on the big screen, an OTT platform, or any stage, and that’s exactly what I’m doing,” said Sona.
Speaking about her preparation for her characters in Dahaad and Heeramandi, she explained that she does not have any method to get into the character as it comes alive for her, when she reaches the set and faces the camera.
Sonakshi further shared that being “observant” is what has been working out for her, as she applies whatever she sees and hears to her shots. She also credited directors, especially Sanjay Leela Bhansali, for helping her preparing for characters.
