Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal got married in June this year. For seven years while they dated, the couple opted to keep their relationship to themselves. Not long ago, Sonakshi talked about why she chose that and said that it was to avoid ‘nazar’ (evil eye). Being an actress, she indicated that some things ought to remain private because the limelight is inevitably upon you.

Sonakshi was asked during a recent talk with CNN-News18, if there was an explaining factor for her and Zaheer not speaking openly about their relationship. In answer, the actress said, “Yaa, nazar,” to indicate the wish to ward off the evil eye.

According to Sonakshi, as an actress, attention usually wavers from her work and legacy. As a result, she believed that private issues are more appropriately kept secret. Sona added, “You’re already so much in the limelight; everybody knows everything about you. Something that is so dear to you should be kept for yourself.”

Sonakshi and Zaheer had a rather intimate wedding at the actress’ Bandra home, amongst their most beloved friends and families. The couple then hosted a grand wedding reception to celebrate their union with their industry friends.
