Suzlon Group, India’s leading renewable energy solutions provider, has secured the nation’s largest wind energy order to date. The deal, announced today, involves the installation of 1,166 MW worth of wind turbine generators (WTGs) for NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), the renewables arm of NTPC Limited.
Suzlon will install 370 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 3.15 MW, across two projects in Gujarat for NTPC Renewable Energy Limited and one for IndianOil NTPC Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. This massive order brings Suzlon’s cumulative order book to nearly 5 GW as of September 2024.
Following the announcement, Suzlon’s shares surged 2.50%, rising from a low of ₹72.82 to ₹76.52. This win comes after the company reported strong Q1 FY25 results, further boosting investor confidence.
