Brooke’s well-meaning efforts to help her children often lead to more trouble, and her recent conversation with Deacon might have handed Sheila a powerful advantage.
In the June 17 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) made a questionable decision to visit Il Giardino—a place that spells trouble— to talk with Deacon (Sean Kanan) about their daughter Hope (Annika Noelle). She confided that Hope is developing feelings for Finn (Tanner Novlan).
Little did Brooke know, Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was eavesdropping. She overheard that Hope sympathizes with Finn and by extension, Sheila’s predicament. Currently, Finn’s wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), has given Finn a strict ultimatum: no contact with Sheila whatsoever. Since Hope sides with Sheila, she’s also on Steffy’s blacklist.
This juicy tidbit is a golden opportunity for Sheila, who will exploit any situation to achieve her goals. Brooke’s interference has unwittingly armed Sheila with the information she needs to worm her way into Finn’s life.
Brooke’s intentions were pure; she wanted to help Hope by involving her father, Deacon, in the situation. Hope has been working on rebuilding her relationship with Deacon, even attending his wedding to Sheila. Brooke hoped to prevent her daughter from making a colossal mistake, but it seems her actions have paved the way for Sheila’s manipulative schemes.
With the knowledge that Hope is sympathetic to her, Sheila can now play on Hope’s emotions. She’ll likely convince Hope that she’s changed, prompting Hope to advocate for Sheila with Finn and others. This will create tension for Finn, who, while not opposed to a relationship with his birth mother, prioritizes his wife’s feelings. Sheila might even fuel Hope’s feelings for Finn, hoping Finn will leave Steffy for Hope. If Steffy is out of the picture, Sheila can have the relationship with Finn and her grandson Hayes that she desires.
Brooke’s meddling has inadvertently complicated things for Hope and Finn. It remains to be seen how Sheila will use this newfound leverage to drive Steffy out of the way for good.
As the drama unfolds, only time will tell the extent of the chaos Sheila can create with her newly acquired ammunition.
