On the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebrated on November 15, Prime Minister Modi paid floral tributes to the great tribal freedom fighter and mass leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda on the occasion of his birth anniversary at his native village Ulihatu, Jharkhand.
Also, PM Modi addressed an event in Khunti, Jharkhand where he flagged off Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. The yatra will start from November 15, 2023 to January 26, 2024. The motive of this yatra is to promote government schemes in each and every part of the country (especially rural areas) so that more beneficiaries can be added to the schemes.

“Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is starting from today. This yatra will start today on 15th November, the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda and will continue till 26th January next year. In this journey, the government will go to every village of the country in mission mode, every poor, every deprived person will be made the beneficiary of government schemes,” said PM Modi.
“A major foundation of the resolve for a Viksit Bharat is PM JANMAN, i.e., PM Janajati Adivasi Nyay Maha Abhiyan. Under this campaign, our government will now reach those tribal brothers and sisters who were never reached,” added PM Modi.
PM also wished people of Jharkhand for its foundation day, “Today we all are also celebrating the Foundation Day of Jharkhand. This state was formed due to the efforts of Atal ji. Right now the country, especially Jharkhand, has received the gift of different schemes worth Rs 50 thousand crores.”
“The story of Lord Birsa Munda, a symbol of tribal pride and struggle, fills every countryman with inspiration. Every corner of Jharkhand is associated with such great personalities, their courage and tireless efforts,” he added.
“Jharkhand has been famous for its mineral resources as well as the courage, bravery and self-respect of the tribal society. My family members here have made an important contribution to the progress of the country. I convey my best wishes to him on the foundation day of the state and also wish for the bright future of the state,” said PM Modi in a social media post on X.
