On Saturday, former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Kanker, Chhattisgarh where he talked about creating awareness among OBC category and alleged that they are being cheated.
“OBC category will have to be aware, because you are being cheated. OBC population in India is more than 50%, but you are not getting even 5% participation in running India. Narendra Modi ji, why is this so?,” asked Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi also lashed out at BJP by saying that the party helps industrialists after coming to power, while the Congress helps poor and farmers. “There are two ways of running a government — One way is to benefit the richest people, and the second way is to help poor people. The Congress government helps the farmers, labourers, poor and unemployed. But BJP government only helps big industrialists,” said Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi also made a huge election promise while addressing the rally. He said that the Congress government will provide free education from KG (kindergarten) to PG (post-graduation) in government schools and colleges of Chhattisgarh.

Former Congress President also claimed that his party fulfilled the promises related to farmers within 2 hours of coming to power in Chhattisgarh in 2018. He said: “In the last elections, we had made 2-3 big promises to Chhattisgarh — Right price for farmers’ crops, loan waiver of farmers and electricity bill will be half. When we were making these promises, everyone from PM Modi to senior BJP leaders had said – these promises will not be fulfilled. But as soon as the government was formed, we completed that work within 2 hours.”
The polling in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to be held in two phases i.e. on 7 and 17 November.
