Harshvardhan Kapoor made his Bollywood debut with the 2016 movie, Mirzya, directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The actor was recently seen in ‘Spotlight’ from the ‘Ray’ anthology. The actor opened up about being hated by a minority group just because he is Anil Kapoor’s son.
In a recent interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan, he said, “Because of the path that I’ve taken, with doing the alternative films and not doing the conformist, regular movies, and not being in the media too much, and doing my own thing, a lot of the people who’ve consumed my work have more of an idea of what I’m like. So I do get not as much hate. Obviously, no matter how well I do, no matter how many films I do, no matter what I achieve in life, there will be a small minority of people that will want to hate me because I’m Anil Kapoor’s son.”
He even added that he can do nothing about it, apart from making peace with it. After his debut, the actor was seen in two films of Vikramaditya Motwane, i.e. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero and AK vs AK. In the 2020 movie, AK vs AK, he played the role of himself and was also seen making fun of his acting career.
His most recent appearance in ‘Spotlight’, directed by Vasan Bala, was captivating. Critics loved his performance and the offbeat character that he chose to play. Many of them commented that it would a turning point to his acting career.
