“MEA never sleeps”: S. Jaishankar strikes back at allegations by Congress’s Jairam Ramesh of MEA being inactive

In the last 24 hours, India reported 3,92,488 new COVID-19 cases and 3,07,865 patients got discharge, while 3689 people died of this deadly virus.

On Sunday, May 2, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar reacted to allegations raised by Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Jairam Ramesh on the working of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for not helping and providing support to Embassy of Philippines.

S. Jaishankar tweeted– “MEA checked with the Philippines Embassy. This was an unsolicited supply as they had no Covid cases. Clearly for cheap publicity by you know who. Giving away cylinders like this when there are people in desperate need of oxygen is simply appalling.”
