On Saturday, March 12, Russia announced that its troops can target supplies of weapons that are to be sent to Ukraine by Western countries.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the US was already informed that the military convoys can be attacked as they are a legitimate target. “We warned the United States that the orchestrated pumping of weapons from a number of countries is not just a dangerous move, it is a move that turns these convoys into legitimate targets,” he said to state television as quoted by AFP.
The minister said that Moscow had warned the White House that there will be consequences of sending military help to Ukraine. “Moscow had warned about the consequences of the thoughtless transfer to Ukraine of weapons like man-portable air defence systems, anti-tank missile systems and so on.”
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is further intensifying. Earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin had said that there have been some positive shifts in talks with Ukraine. Meanwhile, several countries have imposed sanctions on Russia to counter the improved violence, economically.
