“US is spreading misinformation,” says China on its stance on the Russia-Ukraine war

Meanwhile, China is providing humanitarian help to Ukraine & also opposed sanctions imposed on Russia by several nations. 

On Tuesday, March 15, China stated that its stance on Ukraine is completely impartial & alleged the US of spreading misinformation that China is militarily supporting Russia.

China has refused to criticise Russia for invading Ukraine & even denied to refer it as ‘invasion’ or ‘war’. “US has created and spread disinformation. This is not only unprofessional but also immoral and irresponsible,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian at a press conference.

On Monday US adviser Jake Sullivan & Chinese foreign policy adviser Yang Jiechi met in Rome. The US was concerned that China is using the Ukraine crisis as an opportunity to overthrow US’ supremacy. Jake asked Yang to confirm China’s stance on Russia & if they support Russia severe sanctions from the world will follow them.

European Union’s ambassador to China, Nicolas Chapuis said that China cannot be neutral. “There can be no so-called neutrality,” he said. “China’s position and statement on the Ukraine issue is completely objective, impartial and constructive,” Zhao further said.
