US President Joe Biden in his first State of the Union speech said that Russian flights will be completely banned from entering the US airspace. This decision is in tandem with other countries and allies who had done the same much earlier. Putin continues to heavily bomb civilian sites and military bases in Ukraine.
On Tuesday night he announced joining his European allies in bringing down the Russian economy and crippling Putin in all ways possible. White House press secretary Jen Psaki told that the decision was taken keeping the flight route of US flights going over Russia to reach Asia and other corners of the world made this decision viable.
Biden in his State of the Union speech also mentioned that along with his European allies he was coming for their yachts, luxury apartments, private jets and for all of their ill-begotten gains.

With the ongoing Russian invasion in Ukraine, the US State Department had urged their American citizens in Ukraine to immediately evacuate with any mode of transportation available. To enter Romania via railways or share a ride with anyone or while commercial flights were functional to get to a safe haven.
