US Senator Kamala Harris has been formally nominated as Democratic vice-presidential candidate for US elections 2020 at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) held virtually due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
She was joined by Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, who together with Joe Biden, vowed to build an all-inclusive United States.
“I am honoured to accept the nomination for Vice President of the United States. I do so, committed to the values my mother taught me and to a vision that Joe Biden shares—where all are welcome, no matter what we look like, where we come from, or who we love. #DemConvention,” Sen. Harris wrote in a tweet.

It should be mentioned here that she is the first Black American and also first Indian-American to fight for the vice-presidential post from a major party.
In a series of tweets, California’s junior U.S. senator – whose father came from Jamaica
and mother from India – said the fight to ‘fulfil the promise of equal justice under law’ has started.
For George Floyd.
For Breonna Taylor.
For our children.
For all of us.And for the lives of too many others to name, we’ve gotta do the work to fulfill that promise of equal justice under law. Because none of us are free until all of us are free. #DemConvention
