Public deserves to be informed and will publish “Twitter Files” on the suspension of free speech: Elon Musk

“The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself,” Musk tweeted, adding “the public deserves to know what really happened.”

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, announced on Tuesday that the company’s internal documents about the suppression of free speech on the microblogging platform would soon be revealed. “The Twitter Files on free speech suppression soon to be published on Twitter itself,” Musk tweeted, adding “the public deserves to know what really happened.”

Prior to the 2020 US Presidential elections, a Twitter user had urged Musk to make internal information about a New York Post report on US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden’s laptop public. Days later, Musk responded with a tweet.

“Raise your hand if you think @ElonMusk should make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the @NYPost’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election in the interest of Transparency,” the Twitter user had posted.

Musk replied to the tweet shortly after with the statement “This is necessary to restore public trust.”

According to a New York Post article, in April 2019, Hunter Biden left his laptop at a repair facility in his native Delaware. According to the shop owner, the client did not pay for the repair work or retrieve its contents.

According to the allegation, the store owner delivered the hard drive to Donald Trump’s attorney, who then used it to read emails that contained information about alleged misconduct by Joe Biden with reference to Ukraine while he served as US Vice President.

Ever since he paid $44 million to acquire the business, Musk has promoted “transparency.”
