Nikki Haley’s presidential bid raises concern for Pakistan as she vows to cut foreign aid to ‘enemy’ countries’

Haley stated that much of the $46 billion in American money spent on international aid last year went to nations and groups that oppose the United States and its allies.

If Nikki Haley, an Indian-American politician from the Republican Party, is elected president in 2024, she has stated her plan to end foreign aid to countries considered adversaries of the United States, including Pakistan.

In an op-ed published in the New York Post, Haley stated that Pakistan is one of the countries harbouring anti-American sentiments, and she chastised the Biden administration for continuing military aid to Pakistan despite its links to many terrorist organisations and its debt to China.

Haley stated that much of the $46 billion in American money spent on international aid last year went to nations and groups that oppose the United States and its allies.

Addressing all countries deemed enemies that have received US government assistance, Haley stated that the Biden administration has “restored half a billion dollars to a corrupt United Nations agency” that promotes deep anti-Semitic propaganda against Israel, a US ally, under the guise of assisting Palestinians.”

“I will cut every cent in foreign aid for countries that hate us.” A strong America does not pay the bad guys off.A proud America doesn’t waste our people’s hard-earned money. “And the only leaders who deserve our trust are those who stand up to our enemies and stand beside our friends,” the former governor of South Carolina vowed.

Haley said that similar practises of delivering foreign aid to nations with dubious behaviour occurred under both political parties’ reigns. She stressed that previous administrations failed to evaluate the actions of recipient countries while awarding US foreign aid.

Haley emphasised that eliminating these unethical tactics that hurt American taxpayers will need a determined president. “We need a leader who is committed to eradicating these wasteful and unfair schemes,” Haley added.
