Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General to NATO declared that thousands of ready to combat troops were deployed to nearby nations of Ukraine and furthermore NATO will send weapons which include air defence systems to Ukraine to face the Russian offensive.
He further added that NATO will be sending their rapid response team which includes land, maritime, air and special operations team – on allied zones. Close to 30 allied members of NATO promised to send in various types of weapon supply to Ukraine, without any further details.
Stoltenberg enthusiastically stated, “Our allied members have given their commitment to support Ukraine. We will now deploy special response teams for the very first time as part of collective defence. There is no chance of misinterpretation or room for any mistake. We will go all in to support our NATO territories and our allies. I strongly condemn Vladimir Putin’s actions against Ukraine.”
“This looks like a clear indication of being against a democratically elected government and Putin wants to bring down Kyiv for this,” Stoltenberg analytically responded to a virtual news conference held for NATO leaders.
On Wednesday, the US and NATO members vouched to help Ukraine face the brutal offensive Russia has unleashed on its nation while also coming to terms with NATO’s security with the onset of this war. According to military analysts and diplomats, NATO has so far sent 20,000 anti-tanks and other artillery to Zelenskyy’s Ukraine since 24th February.
US Defence Secretary, Llyod Austin said passionately, “We all stand in support of Ukraine and all of us here know that Ukrainians will defend themselves and we will continue to render our support to Ukraine.”; He arrived to attend the emergency meeting for NATO defence ministers in Brussels.
Ukraine is still not yet a registered member of NATO, however, it wanted to join the alliance for protection and absolute immunity against Russia. However, Ukraine continues to seek protection through various other ways.
