Something strange starts happening to Wednesday in the very first episode of season two. While using her psychic powers, black tears suddenly begin to pour out of her eyes. It looks scary, and even Thing notices it right away. But Wednesday brushes it off. She just thinks it’s a weird side effect of her gift. At that point, she doesn’t realize it’s something serious.

Before all this happens, she’s actually tracking down a serial killer. During that chase, she has a strong vision while standing inside the killer’s house. That’s when the black tears first appear. Still, Wednesday doesn’t stop what she’s doing. She returns to Nevermore Academy, where things have changed a lot since last season.

Wednesday is now kind of famous. Everyone knows about her. She’s not the only Addams there anymore either. Her little brother Pugsley has joined the school, and her mom Morticia is also on campus. Morticia is living in a small gardener’s cottage, the same one Mrs. Thornhill used to live in. She’s been asked to help organize a big gala, but clearly, that’s not the only reason she’s there. She’s keeping a close eye on Wednesday.

One night, Morticia looks through a very old book that once belonged to her sister, Ophelia. It’s filled with dark and creepy drawings. One of them shows a girl crying black tears. Morticia instantly makes the connection to Wednesday. Something is clearly wrong.

Later, while Enid is talking to Wednesday, she gently touches her. That small moment triggers another psychic episode. This time, it’s even more intense. Wednesday collapses and starts crying black tears again. She’s shaking on the ground while Morticia and Enid watch in shock. In her vision, she sees something horrible, Enid dying, and somehow, it’s her fault.

When Wednesday wakes up in episode two, Morticia is right there beside her. She finally explains that the black tears mean psychic burnout. It happens when someone pushes their powers too far. She warns Wednesday to stop using her gift like a weapon. She also tells her to stop reading Goody’s spell book, which is known to be dangerous.

But Wednesday doesn’t want to listen. She believes the book holds answers and could help her save Enid’s life. She wants her powers back, especially now that they’re glitching. Morticia tries to protect her by taking the book away. She’s scared that Wednesday is headed down the same path as Ophelia. Ophelia once had strong powers too but went mad and disappeared two decades ago.

Things between Wednesday and her mom get worse in episode three. Their fights grow intense. At one point, they even have a full-blown duel. Morticia ends up winning and burns the book completely. But that doesn’t stop the chaos. The Hyde is back and more dangerous than ever. By the end of the episode, Wednesday is badly hurt after being thrown out of a window.

Now, everything is more complicated. Her powers are out of control. The black tears might come back. And the danger around her is growing fast. We’ll have to wait for part two to find out what really happens next.
