Stock market today: S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 both slipped by 0.15% and 0.33% respectively in early trading on Tuesday

As trading began on Tuesday, the S&P 500 slipped by 0.15% to reach a valuation of  5,974.37.

As of 9:47 AM EST, major U.S. stock indices showed mixed performance on Tuesday morning as investors wait for economic data on home prices and consumer confidence to be released today. Top indices in the pre-market trading struggled to reverse last week’s loss. 

 As trading began on Tuesday, the S&P 500 slipped by 0.15% to reach a valuation of  5,974.37. However, the tech-heavy NASDAQ 100 Index dropped by 0.33% to settle at 21,281.14, as the index continued with yesterday’s downturn. 

On the other hand, the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index rose 0.34% to 43,608.60. Tech-based index the NASDAQ Composite Index fell 0.39% to 19,212.19. While the NYSE Composite Index also showed positive momentum as it climbed by 0.48% to 19,954.87.
