Jesse Palmer, the first Canadian, first professional athlete, and youngest participant on The Bachelor, faced his fair share of challenges during his journey on the beloved competition series. Despite the hurdles, Jesse ultimately found love, but unfortunately, his relationship with the winner did not stand the test of time.
On The Bachelor season 5, which aired in May of 2004, Jesse had to choose between two finalists: Jessica Bowlin, a student from Huntington Beach, California, and Tara Huckeby, a general contractor from Shawnee, Oklahoma. Jesse ultimately picked Jessica, expressing his feelings for her at the altar and offering her a plane ticket to visit him in New York City, rather than proposing marriage.
However, despite their apparent connection on the show, Jesse and Jessica’s relationship came to an end in June of 2004, just a month after the season finale aired. Jesse announced their breakup in a statement to Extra TV, explaining that they had realized their individual paths were leading in different directions.
Since then, Jesse Palmer has moved on and found love again. He is now married to Brazilian photographer and model Emely Fardo. The couple welcomed their first child together, Emma Palmer, in January of 2024. While Jesse’s journey on The Bachelor may not have led to lasting love with Jessica, it’s clear that he has found happiness in his personal life beyond the show.
