A hacking group, that was previously linked to Israel, have claimed to have paralyzed gas stations in Iran in a cyberattack.

The group known as ‘Gonjeshke Darande’ or ‘predatroy sparrow’ said it has disabled a majority of gas pumps throughout the country.

“This cyberattack comes in response to the aggression of the Islamic Republic and its proxies in the region,” said the group in statements in English and Persian.

“Khamenei, playing with fire has a price,” warned the group. It added that “this is just a taste of what we have in store.”

The group has claimed to have access to the payment systems of the impacted gas stations, as well as each station’s central server and management system.

Since the start of the Israel – Hamas conflict in Gaza, which began with a shocking attack launched by Hamas in the southern Israel killing at least 1,200 civilians and abducting more than 240 hostages, Iran backed groups such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Houthi rebels in Yemen have stepped up attacks against Israel.
