The upcoming IPL auction is set to see 369 players go under the hammer, with the 10 franchises collectively needing to fill 77 remaining slots in their squads. As per league rules, each team is allowed a maximum of 25 players, including up to eight overseas cricketers.
Kolkata Knight Riders head into the auction with the largest available purse of Rs 64.30 crore, giving them significant flexibility at the table. Chennai Super Kings follow with a healthy purse of Rs 43.40 crore, while Sunrisers Hyderabad have Rs 25.50 crore at their disposal.
The remaining teams enter the auction with comparatively smaller budgets. Lucknow Super Giants have Rs 22.95 crore, Delhi Capitals Rs 21.80 crore, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Rs 16.40 crore, Rajasthan Royals Rs 16.05 crore, Gujarat Titans Rs 12.90 crore, Punjab Kings Rs 11.50 crore, and Mumbai Indians Rs 2.75 crore.
Among the marquee names expected to attract strong bidding interest is Australia all-rounder Cameron Green, who previously represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Another major attraction is Venkatesh Iyer, who was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the auction despite being bought for Rs 23.75 crore in the mega auction. His availability is likely to spark interest from multiple franchises.
The auction will be held at the Etihad Centre in Abu Dhabi and is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM IST. Fans can watch the live streaming on the JioHotstar mobile app and website, while the live telecast will be available on the Sony Sports Network.
