The FIA has officially released the final starting grid for the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2025 at the Lusail Circuit, confirming two major penalties that reshuffle the lower half of the lineup.
Two Cars Penalised Before the Start
According to the FIA stewards’ document:
- Car 5 – Fernando Alonso receives a 5-place grid penalty for causing a collision (Stewards’ Document No. 51, Las Vegas GP 2025).
- Car 43 – Franco Colapinto is required to start from the pit lane after the car was modified while under Parc Fermé conditions (Stewards’ Document No. 55).
These decisions alter the final lineup, especially at the back of the field, where Colapinto will not take his grid slot but will start from the pit lane.
