Bharti Airtel extends partnership with Swedish Ericsson for pan-India network . Bharti Airtel extends its deal with Ericsson, a Swedish supplier of telecommunications equipment, to handle pan-India network operations.The technology and services alliance between Airtel and Ericsson has spanned implementations of 2G , 3G and 4G and, most recently, active 5G trials.
In view of global worries regarding equipment vendors and the growing dependence on telecom services induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, telecoms operators have swiftly updated their development alliances. Both Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel provide a range of suppliers of telecom devices.
Airtel ‘s three-year contract would see Ericsson Operations Engine released during 2020. In order to enhance the mobile network efficiency and consumer service of Airtel, Ericsson will implement the new automation and artificial (AI) technologies. It will also handle Airtel’s network operations centers and field repair tasks throughout India.

Latest studies have indicated that after a similar move in Rajasthan, Airtel is entitled to abandon Tamil Nadu circle alliance and merge it with Ericsson. Ericsson also offers network management capabilities integrating multi-supplier network experience with state-of-the-art machine intelligence and a computational computing package for AI apps. That offers improved consumer service and ensures competitive returns on network assets invested by Airtel.
Ericsson has been offering 2G , 3G, 4G mobile networking equipment and facilities, and both firms have recently conducted 5G implementations.
