Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila Healthcare created the possible COVID-19 vaccine. Government sources stated that they received nods from the Indian Drugs Controller General (DCGI) for clinical human trials on Thursday.
Due to the severity of the pandemic and ongoing medical necessity, the evaluation process was regulated immediately with the encouragement of the COVID-19 Committee of Experts.
This potential COVID-19 vaccine developed by Ahmedabad Zydus Cadila Healthcare Ltd was found to be successful in animal experimentation. Therefore on Thursday DCGI Dr V G Somani approved the Corona Virus Vaccine for phase I and phase II clinical trials (on humans). An authoritative source of information told PTI.
