The Britain Government has now proposed regulations that would allow emergency approval of the COVID-19 vaccine. This will allow people to be immunized until the final licensing process is done.

Although vaccines are used only after the licensing is done, this is a special case. But the shots will be given only if they meet the safety and quality standards. This move is adapted as a precautionary measure and would only be used if there is an emergency. The country has also signed multiple deals with pharmaceuticals for COVID-19 vaccine.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a statement on Friday stating that it was adopting reinforced safeguards to allow the country’s medicines regulatory agency t grant temporary authorization of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The government is now beginning a three week consultation period to seek advice from health experts on this issue. The number of health workers who can administer vaccines will also be increased.
