Russia has become the first country in the world to approve and administer its COVID-19 vaccine. Indian drug company Dr Reddy’s Laboratories announced on Wednesday that they will be receiving 100 million doses of Sputnik-V.
Dr Reddy’s announced they will start the Phase 3 trials of the Vaccine in India.
G V Prasad, co-Chairman of Dr Reddy’s Laboratories said that so far, the vaccine shows a lot of promise, he said, “Sputnik V vaccine could provide a credible option in our fight against COVID-19 in India.”
This deal has been announced after Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and signed agreements with Indian firms to produce a sizable amount in India itself.
