As the COVID-19 vaccination is going on at a swift rate, the Odisha government has issued a notice regarding the vaccination drive in the state.
“People such as Sadhus (hermits/saints), prison inmates, senior citizens in old age homes, beggars, and others without any of the seven prescribed ID proofs should not be denied of Covid-19 vaccination. The Cowin portal will create special vaccination sessions for this purpose”, says the Odisha government.

The notice, that has been promulgated by the Odisha government, clearly says that the beneficiaries must register for the Covid-19 vaccination using one of the seven prescribed ID proofs, but there are some vulnerable groups that may not have any of the prescribed ID proof. Such groups shouldn’t be denied of Covid-19 vaccination.
The government also directs the districts & municipal corporations to do apposite preparations such as identification of District Nodal Officer, Key facilitators, CVC’s sites, and also identification of the specific groups to be vaccinated.
Although, after witnessing a slight decline in the Covid-19 cases, Odisha has again registered an upswing in the number of infections on an everyday basis.
The state has reported 9,793 Covid cases in the last 24 hours. While the number of total cases stands at 5.55 lakh.
