AstraZeneca PLC and Oxford Univesity’s vaccine had been voluntarily paused due to signs of illness amongst volunteers.
However, the company released a statement saying that their trials are resuming. The statement said, “Clinical trials for the AstraZeneca Oxford coronavirus vaccine, AZD1222, have resumed in the UK following confirmation by the Medicines Health Regulatory Authority (MHRA) that it was safe to do so.
AZD1222 is now one of the 9 vaccines which are in Phase 3 human trials.
Good news for everyone the Oxford vaccine trials are back up and running. This pause shows we will always put safety first. We will back our scientists to deliver an effective vaccine as soon as safely possiblehttps://t.co/RUtTE3sPim
