India records 2 lakh new COVID-19 case, 1,038 deaths in last 24 hours

Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) released that 26,20,03,415 samples were tested up to April 15 including 13,84,549 samples tested yesterday.  

On Thursday, April 15, Union Health Ministry released the data of new COVID-19 cases in India, after that India reached the milestone of highest single day surge.

Report released by the Union Health Ministry states that in the last 24 hours, India reported 2,00,739 new COVID-19 cases and reached the milestone of highest single day surge and 93,528 patients got discharge, while 1,038 people died of this deadly virus. Total active cases in India is now around 14 lakhs.

The total number of COVID19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 11crore on the fourth day of the Tika Utsav.

On 14 April, day 4 of the countrywide Tika Utsav saw the total vaccinations cross the 11.43 crore mark with more than 31.39 lakh vaccine doses were administered till 8 pm. 69,974 COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs) were operational, marking a rise of an average of 24,000 operational Vaccination Centres ( 45,000 CVCs on an average are functional on any given day). Workplace vaccinations have also enabled such a high turnout of beneficiaries.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 11,43,18,455 as per the 8 pm provisional report of 14th April.

In the country’s bid to flush out COVID-19 cases, another milestone has been reached today. The country has crossed 26 crore tests. The exact figure stands at 26, 20, 03, 415. The tests conducted in the last 24 hours stand at 13, 84, 549.

India’s daily new cases continue to rise. 2, 00, 739 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours.

Ten states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan have shown a rise in the COVID-19 daily new cases. 82.04 % of the new cases are reported from these 10 states.
