Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on Saturday, announces an extension of the lockdown by one week.

Earlier, the government declared a lockdown in the national capital on the 20th of April, in the wake of consistently rising Covid-19 cases. Although, supply of essential services will not be hindered.

“Lockdown in Delhi is being extended by one week,” tweeted CM Kejriwal. Hence, a lockdown in the national capital will be in effect till the 10th of May and until further order.

 

Well, the total number of cases reported in Delhi on Friday stands at 27,047 while the number of total cases in the city is 1.15 million.

In addition to this, Delhi has been struggling with a shortage of oxygen supply. In order to tackle the same, the Delhi government has decided to set up 21 oxygen plants in the city.

Furthermore, the Delhi High Court directed the center to ensure that Delhi recieves 490 MT of oxygen supply that has been already allocated to it.

Also, the vaccination for above 18 will commence on Monday, in Delhi, CM Kejriwal informed.

“Vaccination for people between 18-44 years started at only one center. This is symbolic. We have recieved 4.5 lakh vaccine doses. It is being distributed in all districts. Large scale vaccination in Delhi will begin from the day after tomorrow. There is no walk-in for now. I request people to come only with registration and appointment”, said CM Kejriwal; as quoted by ANI.

Though, the registration for the vaccination for 3rd phase has begun on the 28th of April, 2021. You can get yourselves registered through cowin.gov.in.
