Since the Coronavirus outbreak in March, India has recorded its highest spike yet in the daily number of cases. In the last 24 hours, the states reported 26,506 fresh cases taking the Coronavirus tally to 7,93,802. The death toll has also risen to 21,604 after 475 fatalities were recorded on Thursday.

The active cases of the country stand at 2,76,685 while over 4,95,513 patients have been cured or recovered till date. The recovery rate has improved to 62.4%

– Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in India with over 2,30,599 total cases and 9,667 fatalities.
– On a positive note, over 1,27,259 patients have recovered and 93,673 cases are still active.

– Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state in terms of the number of cases (1,26,581).
– The death toll of the state stands at 1,765.
– The state has 46,655 active cases while 78,161 patients have recovered.

– Delhi has the second-highest number of fatalities (3,258) in the country.
– The national capital has a total of 1,07,051 cases out of which 82,226 patients have recovered so far.
– the recovery rate seems to be increasing in Delhi.

Across the globe, Coronavirus has affected over 1.18 crore people and taken more than 5,45,000 lives. The United States remains the worst-affect nation with 2.93 million cases whereas Brazil is the second worst-affected nation with 1.6 million victims so far. India ranks third after taking over Russia last week.
