India witnessed another biggest spike in its one day as the states reported 49,310 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of Coronavirus cases in India now stands at 12,87,945. With 740 fatalities reported in one day, the death toll rose to 30,601. The number of recoveries crossed the 8 lakh mark.
Currently, India has 4,40,135 active cases while 8,17,208 patients have recovered so far. The gap between the number of active cases and recoveries has widened to 3,77,073. In the last 24 hours, a record 34,602 patients were cured or recovered.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 1,54,28,170 samples have been tested for the Coronavirus infection so far. On Thursday alone, 3,52,801 samples were tested.
Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with a Coronavirus death tally of 12,854, followed by Delhi with 3,745 deaths and Tamil Nadu with 3,232 deaths.

According to the data released by Johns Hopkins University, the Coronavirus infection has affected over 1.54 crore people and taken more than 6.3 lakh lives across the globe.
