The total number of Coronavirus cases in India has reached 4,56,183 as the states reported 15,968 fresh cases in the last 24 hours. With the deadly Coronavirus infection claiming 465 lives in the last 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 14,476 in the country.

The medical research body ICMR (The Indian Council of Medical Research) validated the 1,000th testing laboratory for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Out of this lot, 730 laboratories are under the government sector while the rest 270 are under the private setups.

On Tuesday, the number of tests conducted in the country for the detection of the Coronavirus infection crossed the 75.5 lakh mark. As of June 23, a total of 73,52,911 samples have been tested.

As of today, Maharashtra has reported 1,39,010 Coronavirus cases followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu with 66,602 and 64,603 cases, respectively.

Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with the highest number of deaths (6,531) as well. Delhi has reported 2,301 deaths and Gujarat has reported 1,710 deaths.

On a brighter side, 2,58,684 patients have recovered so far while the active number of cases stand at 1,83,022. India’s recovery rate stands at 56.70%. Above 10,500 patients recovered from the Coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

According to the data released by Johns Hopkins University, the total number of Coronavirus cases has crossed the 92.39 lakh cases while the death toll has risen to 4.76 lakh across the globe.
